A good paintball strategy is to have experience paintball snipers in your team, they stay in the shadows and act like secret agents. Being a paintball sniper requires to be far from the action but they can really turn the tide of the game and help the team achieve the ultimate goal –Winning.
Sniping skills are needed if you want to snipe and take out your opponents from hidden position. To become an efficient paintball sniper, you first need to practice on hitting targets from close and medium range (5-10 meters) using paintball rifles that are not fitted with sniper scopes. This will help to acquire good sharpshooting abilities without the aid of any scoping equipment. Sniping without the use of rifle scopes will sharpen your judgment on when to shoot and how to aim and lock down on your target.
A very effective paintball sniper exercise is to shoot at small targets from various distances. You can use tomato cans as they are small and hard to hit from long distances. If you have an area where you can practice (note: make sure your range is free of pedestrians for the obvious reasons), and set up your cans at different distances.

You can add as many cans to this exercise as you want, because we all know to well the old adage “Practice Makes Perfect”. One way to really gauge the effectiveness of your paintball sniper skills is by adding pressure like a time limit or number of shots you can fire. For instance, you need to successfully hit 10 targets of varying distance and height within a certain period of time or you need to hit all targets with a limited number of ammunition.
To further heighten your skills, you can get your friends to compete with you in such tests to see who’s the better paintball sniper is. Just remember, start off without sniper scopes. In time adding the scopes will only enhance your already defined sharpshooting skills.
